I was bending down, running my finger across the paved surface of the bike path. I was feeling the edges of shards of glass embedded in the asphalt, used as an eco-friendly filler material in probably one of the most bone-headed political stunts ever (related to biking in the Pioneer Valley, anyway). Most were embedded flat, but there were some ragged edges slanting upward here and there. i've lost probably half a dozen tubes to the fucking things. the surface of the bike path glitters beautifully in the sunlight.
a stubbly man on a huffy bikes past, sees me prodding at the broken glass paved bike path.
"yeah, that was a horrible idea."
